How GST works on a Mumbai invoice
Mumbai is in Maharashtra and we are registered in Delhi, which makes this an inter-state supply. The 18% appears as a single IGST line rather than a CGST and SGST split. The total is the same either way, and if you are GST-registered you claim it as input credit either way. It changes what the invoice looks like, not what it costs — which is worth knowing before your accountant asks.

- Price, mostly, and it is a real difference at the same quality. Beyond that there is not much in it — this work happens over calls and in a repository, and being in the same city stopped mattering some years ago. If you want somebody physically present, hire locally; we would say so.
- Do you work with D2C brands on Shopify?
- Yes, and also on moving off it when the platform fee starts to cost more than the build would. For most brands the honest answer is to stay on Shopify longer than they expect and spend the money on the storefront instead.
